Roberson Wine is the Decanter Online Retailer of the Year, specialising in the wines of the U.S. and France. Our online retail business is growing rapidly and we are looking for the right person to join our small team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a key role in a team of three. We work closely together on retail sales, focusing on our website, email campaigns, wine club and consumer tasting events. The main responsibilities of the role are:
• Creating interesting, visually strong marketing campaigns that effectively drive online sales. This includes contributing ideas, developing them with the team, sourcing and editing images and graphics, and building email marketing campaigns.
• Adding web content. This includes creating banners and other images, formatting and posting product descriptions and blog entries, creating new pages and updating the product database.
• Assisting with web development and site maintenance. This includes contributing ideas to improve visitor numbers, conversion rate and other KPI’s, helping to plan changes, monitoring the work of our web developers and testing the results.
• Tracking and reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns and changes through Google Analytics.
• Ensuring that all the above is carried out with a strong focus on hitting sales targets.
As a member of a small team this role will also involve contributions to all other areas of the Online Retail team’s operations, including customer service, order processing and tasting events.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a hard-working, talented and intelligent person to fit within a small team. You’ll need a good all-round set of technical skills and a love of wine. If you think that could be you, please apply, even if you don’t tick every box on the list below.
• Experience. At least two years of e-commerce experience is strongly preferred, with a track record of hitting e-commerce sales targets.
• Technical aptitude. You will need to be technically-minded, able to read and organise a spreadsheet, be prepared to learn basic code (if you don’t know any HTML already) and have experience with and talent for Adobe apps, such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Wine knowledge. Formal qualifications and specialist wine knowledge would be a bonus but are not necessary. You will learn a lot about wine in the role, and it is only essential that you enjoy wine, are enthusiastic about it and want to learn more.
• Other characteristics. You will need to be creative (especially visually), sales-focused, hardworking, organised, intelligent, and a good communicator via email and telephone.
MORE DETAILS
• Salary – £24,000-£27,000 depending on skills and experience.
• Benefits – Performance-related annual bonus scheme, generous staff discount, in-house wine training with producers, formal WSET wine training.
• Contract – Full time, permanent.
• Hours – 9am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday, plus some out of hours work at tasting events.
• Based at – Roberson Wine, 21-27 Seagrave Road, London SW6 1RP.
