Business Development Manager
Location: London/South East
Salary: £25k £35k + generous bonus for OTE, plus pension, company car, phone, and laptop.
Berkmann Wines Cellars is one of the UK’s leading independent wine distributors with our head office based in central London. From our UK depots we offer a national service with a local touch, reaching all sectors of the On and Off Trade. We are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team as an ambassador for Berkmann Wine Cellars within the national on-trade accounts.
The Opportunity:
In order to meet our strategic expansion plans, we are seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager to work in a dynamic and commercial environment covering the areas of London and the South East. This is an ambassadorial role where you will be required to represent the company and have a responsibility for implementing marketing derived brand activity plans.
The successful applicant will work primarily with the Young’s key account, liaising with key customers and suppliers to agree and execute promotional plans. An important part of this role will be the analysis of promotional activity to assess its effectiveness, and educating key account staff on the key attributes of Berkmann Wine Cellars.
Candidates will live within the designated geographical region, and will have extensive knowledge of their target area. This position requires the delivery of sales in order to achieve gross profit targets; increase prominence and visibility of key agency wines whilst working towards increasing company profile within the national on-trade sector.
Candidate Requirements:
Detailed wine knowledge.
Experience within the Industry essential.
Living in or near to, (with detailed geographical knowledge) of your target area.
Analytical and numerate with attention to detail.
Computer literate, using Word and Excel.
Ability to complete a detailed price proposal and write a balanced wine list.
Ability to communicate with confidence both internally and externally.
Experience of working with Brand owners and strategic brand development would be advantageous.
To demonstrate a passion for our products, our aims and customer service.
WSET qualified, minimum level 2.
