Sound like something you want to be a part of? Thought so! Luckily for you, we are on the lookout for a talented Marketing Manager to head up our Marketing team at our head office, based in Islington.
Reporting into the Commercial Director and managing a team of 5; this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop people management skills. Each of your direct reports will be responsible for a region of the portfolio and you will help to guide them with the strategic planning of each brand. You will look after over 100 suppliers and liaise with the brand owners whilst being responsible for the overall corporate marketing.
You must be in a similar Marketing Manager role or a Senior Brand Manager looking for a step up; experience working for a distributor and preferably have experience with both the on and off-trade. Wine knowledge desirable.
There will be several initial challenges within the first 12 months; these will include successful integration into this role the team and business, as well as developing intimate brand knowledge.
Key responsibilities:
· To effectively manage the Marketing department, delivering corporate marketing plans and taking responsibility for the training, mentorship and development of the team
· To build and foster strong relationships with individual brand owners to drive the strategic direction of our portfolio
· Full brand responsibility for our Chilean portfolio; which includes three of Berkmann Wine Cellar’s key agency wines
· To implement strategic brand activity plans in line with budgets set, and with a view to growing the bottom line
· To continuously assess the effectiveness of Marketing and Sales activity against objectives, taking corrective action as and when necessary and working closely with other departments to ensure optimum results
· To actively ensure that mechanisms are in place to align channel strategies with brand strategies
· To operate in accordance with our ‘vison and values’ at all times, amplifying the impact of Berkmann Wine Cellars in the market
Essential requirements:
· Experience of working within the UK On/Off Trade drinks industry essential, preferably from a wine background
· Marketing Management/Senior Brand Management experience is necessary, with a demonstrated ability to work in line with budgets, interpret a profit and loss sheet and assimilate data quickly
· Sales experience, and an in-depth understanding of FMCG industry desirable
· Experience of working with brand owners and strategic brand development
· Practical knowledge and ability to use and interpret Market data (e.g. AC Nielsen data and TGI)
· A hands-on approach with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude essential
· Ability to effectively manage workload and work to deadlines
· High level of computer literacy and exceptional communication skills are essential for this role
