The business has a great reputation in the English trade with our winemakers receiving the title of ‘Best Winemakers in the UK’ at the UKVA awards in 2016 for the second time and the owner is also Chairman of the English Wine Producers.

In 2016, Hattingley Valley won 2 ‘Best in Class’ awards, 6 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals & 2 Bronze Medals in international competitions, so you can be very confident of the quality of the wines that you would be promoting.

The Role

·         Primarily based in London with the main focus on driving awareness in the premium on-trade but also with the independent retail sector.

·         Prospecting for new accounts & listings, offering training to existing customers, organising and delivering masterclasses & events

·         Working with our distributor, Liberty Wines, to help and support them wherever possible both in London and other parts of the UK

·         Participating in trade fairs & events in and around the UK will be within the remit

·         Some international travel may be required

·         You will also be required to visit the winery on a regular basis for meetings & customer visits

The Candidate

·         Must have good wine knowledge, ideally WSET Level 3 or 4, Advanced Sommelier or Master Sommelier Certificate or commensurate experience

·         Must have excellent knowledge of the London restaurant scene

·         Would ideally be a sommelier at present or would have worked in this role recently.

·         Might currently be an account manager for a wine distributor

·         Might be someone looking for their first job outside of hospitality

·         Must be prepared to work hard and get involved in other areas of the business as and when required, this may also include work on branding, marketing, NPD & events

·         Must be a good public speaker with strong interpersonal skills

·         Should be passionate, enthusiastic and have good communication skills

·         Needs good connections in London
