Job Description: Highbury Vintners is an award winning independent wine merchant with over 1300 wines and a vast range of spirits and beer. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service which has helped us secure a loyal customer base. We are looking for a driven, ambitious individual to join our growing company.  The perfect introduction to the wine industry, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn about all aspects of a wine business. After completion of your training period, you will be sponsored to complete the WSET Level 3 to further your studies, with the potential for Diploma Level 4 sponsorship for the right candidate. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in every aspect of day-to-day store operations involving accepting deliveries, stock replenishment, preparing for tastings and other ad-hoc tasks. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss wine with customers, and broaden your tasting experience through in-store tastings.   As an independent we are always open to new ideas, leading to opportunities for job development for the right candidate. Required Skills: - Previous experience in the service industry  - Passion for wine and desire to learn - Excellent customer service skills  - Strong interpersonal and team working skills  - Good communication skills – spoken and written - WSET Level 2 - IT literacy (EPOS experience an advantage) - UK resident and live within a reasonable travel time of Highbury This is a physical job and involves regular evening and weekend work.
