Distribution Centre Shift Controller (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Majestic Wines are the largest wine specialist in the UK with over 200 stores, as well as a very significant online presence, and megastores in France. The stock for the UK store network is processed through our Distribution Centre (DC) in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

These roles will support the DC General Manager and warehouse staff under their control to work effectively within the warehouse to achieve targets within budgets set by management. Overseeing daily receipts, despatches, and picking operation.

Responsibiltiies

• Working with the DC General Manager to control all aspects of the warehouse, prioritise work load, to work efficiently within budgets whilst helping to improve productivity
• To accurately control all good’s receipts/despatches, picking and movement of stock within the warehouse.
• To maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment and adhere to all Company health and safety procedures.
• Motivate, train and develop all staff under his/her responsibility to ensure objectives are achieved and maintained whilst retaining good industrial relations.
• Ensure all required records of attendance, overtime, sickness and holiday are recorded to enable accurate payment of wages.
• Ensure key holding for opening and closing of the premises as needed.
• Ensure all company buildings, equipment and stock are maintained in a manner to ensure safety and security of staff, goods and property

Knowledge/Skills

• Effective communicator, self motivated, attention to detail, ability to drive improvements in warehouse efficiency and standards
• Ability to identify, introduce, monitor and manage staff performance KPI’s
• Broad knowledge of Supply Chain strategies
• Computer literate (Excel / Word / Microsoft Office)

Hours: 37.5 per week. 

Bonus: Eligible for DC monthly bonus.

Shifts: (Alternating) - Week 1 Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm followed by Week 2 Sunday 8am to 4pm then Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm with a day off in the week.
