Job Description
We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic wine lover to work in our Greenwich Wine Shop, which offers a large selection of everyday and fine wines as well as a range of services. This position is full time (approx 40 hours per week), with shifts spread over 5 days, including evenings and regular weekend shifts. Also occasional help in the sales office with telephone order enquiries, packing corporate gifts and tastings.
An ideal step for someone with some retail experience looking for a stepping stone from retail into an office role, with the possibility of progression in due course into our sales team, for the right individual.
Key job Outline:

Deliver exceptional levels of customer service by providing advice and assistance on selecting wine.

Maximize sales through enthusiasm, knowledge, sales techniques, and striving to achieve personal targets.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Counter sales, accurate and efficient use of EPOS till system

Sales skills – a proactive approach to welcoming and engaging with customers, ascertaining their needs and suggesting wines

Stock rotation and stocking.

House-keeping – ensure shop/shop front is kept in pristine condition.

Follow daily opening and closing procedures.

Dynamic merchandising displays and blackboards.

Support with marketing in the local community.

Wine Tastings – assist with and / or presenting monthly or weekly shop tastings.

Write and update tasting notes and prepare tasting sheets for the wine portfolio.

Delivering wine locally, attending local tasting events

Some heavy lifting (15kg cases), carrying stock and maintaining store stockrooms.

Flexible working hours; Shop is open 7 days a week.
Desired/Required skills or experience:

Retail experience (desirable)

Competent with MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook

UK driving licence (desirable)

WSET Qualification or similar (desirable)

A keen interest to learn about wine (essential)
