SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

JOB DESCRIPTION 

To maximise margin and turnover from the designated territory. To deliver through account and outlet coverage agreed trade channel strategies (average of 7-8 calls per day).

To prepare and implement annual Area Plans that maximise the commercial potential of all accounts and outlets in the area, both existing and potential accounts. 

A detailed Account Plan to be prepared for Top 10 Accounts.

Negotiation and implementation of trading terms including price (all accounts must be on Appropriate Numbered Price bands) / Channel Marketing/ Retrospective Discounts, Equipment within existing and prospect accounts.

To deliver price increases in account base in line with Company expectations.

To produce and keep up-to-date a Prospect Account Schedule showing revenue and profit opportunity, expected date of winning the business and progress against this schedule in conjunction with the CDMs.

In conjunction with RSM and CDM to identify and evaluate all large incremental business opportunities.

To provide support and outlet level implementation to ensure effective outlet activation of Head Office negotiated agreements whether these are National or Key accounts.

To complete all administrative tasks and procedures to the required standard.

Maintain OTIS data base.

To record all call activity in particular objective and result using Sales Force Technology.

To develop and implement a portfolio contact strategy that enables effective coverage of accounts and prospects to maximise the commercial opportunities within the Territory. A robust effective journey plan is essential.

To implement channel activity plans in line with Company Strategic Plan.

Provision of market place information and analysis back into MC Business Insight and CGA database.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Role responsibilities:

  • Contacting and visiting existing and prospect customers with the aim of developing strong relationships
  • Building bespoke deals relevant to individual customer needs ensuring profitability to the company
  • Ensuring you have excellent knowledge of our expansive product range, to enable you to speak confidently, knowledgably & passionately to clients and present proposals to them.
  • Identifying and evaluating large incremental business opportunities in the area.
  • Ensuring customers are aware of our other services (menu design etc)
  • Making 5/6 quality calls a day to customers to deliver agreed trade channel strategies.
  • Support Head Office negotiated agreements (whether National or Key accounts)
  • Implementing activity plans in line with Company Strategic Plan
  • Admin as necessary

What we’re looking for: 

  • Sales experience and a track record of success
  • Demonstrable drinks industry knowledge
  • Strong wine knowledge (preferably evidenced by your WSET qualifications)
  • Good presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to act on own initiative
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong IT skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes)
  • Full Driving Licence
