Store Manager and Company Director
(Wine Jobs:
Management & Administration)
Full Time
Devon,
England
A real chance to take on not only a successful store, but become part of shaping a new business.
Jaded Palates Wines is a new wine venture building on solid roots. Based in Dartmoor, we recently took over an established wine retail operation and are in the process of developing new lines of business to enhance and extend our offering. With one store and an online presence already established, we now have a potential opportunity to open a new branch in the near future.
This is your chance to not only run your own store, but also become an integral part of a small, dynamic, ambitious wine business very near the beginning. If you see yourself as:
- Currently located in Central Devon, or willing to relocate here
- Possessing preferably a good basic wine knowledge level at least, with, more importantly, an insatiable appetite to learn
- Having a willingness to work hard, doing everything from assisting with choosing wines and running a small team to cleaning the glasses and making deliveries
- Having a respectable level of prior business experience, with some kind of results to show for it
- Incredibly service-oriented. The wines are key, yes, but we stand out because we are ALWAYS willing to help, even when there is no sale forthcoming
- Being enthusiastic, ambitious and excited for the future, but at the same time humble and conscientious
Then perhaps this will be the chance you are looking for. Here's what we are offering:
- Branch Manager position, coming on board right from the very beginning. You'd be involved in helping get the shop up and running, before taking on all the day-to-day operations.
- A key part in the management of the overall company. You'll be involved with buying, hiring other team members, marketing campaigns, budgeting and finance, and all aspects of running a small business.
- The chance to develop anciliary parts of the business which will be located within the new store: wholesale, wine education and a wine-bar.
As such a key part of our small team, finding the right person is incredibly important to us. You mustn't expect to be paid a fortune to begin with, because none of us are. Be prepared to discuss with us the possibility of you investing in shares in the business to help fund the new store opening. You must therefore be passionate with the possibilities of where this project might go.
There are lots and lots of would-be wine entrepreneurs out there. Are you the right one to grab this chance?
We aim to pay a basic salary, and then performance-related pay based on the business profits, which you will help generate! You'll be earning the same as our other Company Director, and this is not something we will hide come interview.
