Wine Advisor - Warehouse Shop
(Wine Jobs:
Wine Retail & Sommelier)
Full Time
Berry Bros & Rudd
Basingstoke,
England
The Warehouse Shop in Basingstoke provides the local area and beyond with a unique retail opportunity to search out hidden gems from a wide selection of genuine bin-end wines, along with an extensive list from our current range of wines and spirits. As a result of an internal move, a vacancy has arisen for a Wine Advisor to join the shop.
Reporting to Leon Reilly, Shop Manager, the individual will need to be someone who can provide an exceptionally high level of customer service and be able to advise on and sell the full range of Berry Bros. & Rudd products and services to customers. Further responsibilities in the role will include re-stocking of the shop, conducting customer tastings, and general shop house-keeping. Due to the nature of the role and this part of our business, a large amount of manual handling should be expected.
The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of delivering an outstanding level of customer service in a previous role, ideally giving product advice. Existing wine knowledge is required (ideally to WSET Level 3), coupled with the enthusiasm and willingness to learn more. Candidates should be self-confident, highly organised and self-motivated, and enjoy working as part of a small team. A flexible, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills will be critical to success in this role.
The Warehouse Shop is open six days a week (the shop is closed on Mondays) within the opening hours of 10am to 6pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm on weekends. The successful candidate will be expected to work five shifts out of six; however a degree of flexibility is required due to the varying demands of the business.
How To Apply
To apply for the role, please submit your CV and a covering letter by close of business on Friday 29th July 2016 to Leon Reilly at
