Distribution and Warehouse Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

New opportunity not to be missed! We have an exciting opportunity for a Distribution and Warehouse Manager to join the growing team based in Birmingham. You will receive a competitive salary depending on experience plus bonus.

We provide licensed establishments with all of their bar and sundry supplies. Our aim is to provide the best customer service in the industry, as well as an impressive and extensive portfolio of products. Currently they employ over 700 people and they have 15 depots across the UK as well as a Support Centre and Hub distribution centre based in Openshaw, in Manchester.

As the Distribution and Warehouse Manager, you responsible for coordinating the storage, transportation and delivery of goods. You will also be involved in stock control and warehousing, managing the day to day running of the warehouse and monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods and responsible for the line management of the staff within the distribution team including warehouse staff and transportation staff. You will also ensure that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met.

Key responsibilities of the Distribution and Warehouse Manager:

- Managing an O licence fleet within the required legislation

- Managing recruitment, training and appraising of employees

- Allocation and manage staff resource according to ever changing needs

- Managing of costs within budget

- Implement, manage and maintain heath and safety standards

- Manage an effective stock control and replenishment process

- Liaising with customers to ensure high levels of customer service are being achieved

Key skills required by the Distribution and Warehouse Manager:

- Ability to be flexible as they are a 7 day operation

- Organisational and planning skills

- Good IT skills

- Good team work skills

- National CPC holder would be advantageous but not essential, as training would be provided for the right applicant.

- Communication and Leadership skills

- Able to motivate a workforce and encourage strong teamwork
