Gusbourne is a premium English Sparkling Wine producer based in Appledore, Kent. The estate was established in 2004 and has continued to grow since then resulting in extensive plantings in Kent and Sussex. At Gusbourne we strive to produce the finest wines in the world using only our own estate grown fruit ensuring that we have full control over quality, from the vine to the glass.

 

Expansion of the company over recent years has led Gusbourne to commence establishment of a retail and visitor facility at its winery in Appledore. An exciting opportunity exists for a full time Cellar Door Manager.

 

We are seeking someone who enjoys a challenge, is sales driven and has a hands on approach, with a ‘can do’ attitude. The ideal candidate would be on board in the infancy of this next phase in Gusbourne’s story, helping to influence the direction and scope of the retail operation.

 

The successful candidate will be representing the Gusbourne brand and team, and will need to have exceptional people skills and a warm and welcoming attitude with a focus on excellent customer service.

 

The Cellar Door Manager will be a great team player as, reporting to the COO and liaising closely with the Brand Manager and the central office administration will mean they will be a fully integrated member of the Gusbourne team.

 

Duties to include

Opening and closing of cellar door

Process, prepare and dispatch orders

Maintain a clean and safe cellar door

Stock control

Facilitate and manage tastings and tours for individuals and groups

Staff training

Promotion and sales with an expectation to meet appropriate targets

Liaising with Brand Manager regarding local marketing

Weekend and evening work

 

Skills and experience

Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and demonstrate intimate knowledge of our wines.

Good general wine knowledge (WSET Diploma)

Retail sales experience

Autonomous working

Friendly approach to customers –retail face of Gusbourne

Extremely proactive.

Highly organised
